Abstractions of Oxfordshire
The artworks in this collection of work were produced 2021-22 for an exhibition in May 2022, used reclaimed reproduction maps of Oxfordshire, otherwise destined for the dump, as their canvases. The pieces are explorations of a sense of place, evoked by the emotion and the personal and community histories connected to a location, with the cartography of the maps beneath acting as a starting point for abstraction in, around, and above the spaces of Oxfordshire.
